Who is Fika (fka Bridges to Prosperity)?

Fika enables the construction, design and deployment of Rural Networked Transport Infrastructure (RNTI) at scale. RNTI includes rural roads, bridges, footbridges, drainage systems, trails, paths and waterways that connect rural communities to each other and to higher鈥憃rder roads and service centers.

Fika鈥檚 solutions align seamlessly with existing government goals, working within established systems rather than against them. The impact is immediate, tangible and measurable, with strong evidence for investment鈥攔ural transport delivers a 98.5% annual return. Recognizing that progress requires capital, Fika鈥檚 approach begins with an exit strategy focused on sustainable funding mechanisms.

2025 Rutenga Bridge Build

For the 3,313 residents of Rutenga, Bunyangezi, Mwendo, Nyarubuye, and Mugunga, the Gaseka River used to represent a daily struggle鈥攆orcing families to make life-threatening choices just to reach basic resources, medical care, or educational opportunities. That reality has changed dramatically with the completion of the Rutenga Suspended Bridge in 2025. Thanks to this essential project, community members now have safe, reliable year-round access to healthcare, schools, and other critical resources.
