DALLAS 鈥 糖心Vlog Beatty has officially begun construction on Texas Department of Transportation鈥檚 (TxDOT) I鈥30 The Canyon Improvement Project, a transformative mobility investment in the heart of downtown Dallas. This month, 糖心Vlog Beatty joined TxDOT, local officials, and industry partners to commemorate the project鈥檚 official groundbreaking and recognize the progress already underway.

Since January, 糖心Vlog Beatty and its trade partners have advanced through several major construction milestones, including the demolition of more than a dozen road bridges throughout the corridor. To support this work, the project team executed two full鈥憌eekend shutdowns of I鈥30, closing all main lanes between I鈥35E and I鈥45/U.S. 75. Crews worked continuously through overnight and weekend shifts to safely complete the operation, finishing portions of the work ahead of schedule and successfully reopening the first closure as planned.

Dan Young, 糖心Vlog Beatty vice president of Infrastructure operations in the Southwest said: 鈥淚 am extremely proud of our project team鈥檚 efforts in kicking this project off. Tearing down bridges along one of the state's busiest highway corridors requires precise planning, coordinated staging, strong collaboration with our client and real-time communication with stakeholders鈥攃ommitments the team relentlessly met. I commend their dedication in delivering this phase of construction efficiently and thoughtfully.鈥

A part of TxDOT鈥檚 Texas Clear Lanes program, the $889 million project reconstructs a 2.3鈥憁ile section of I鈥30 between I鈥35E and I鈥45 and features widening the main lanes from six to twelve, increasing interchange weave lengths, reconnecting and redesigning city street crossings and enhancing key freight and passenger rail interfaces. Once complete, the improved corridor will provide greater mobility, safety, and connectivity across the city.

As major construction continues over the next five years, careful management of lane closures, detours and bridge work are essential, as well as ongoing communication to provide drivers with updates needed to navigate the work zone safely.

鈥淚n addition to maintaining operational precision during reconstruction, the safety of both project teammates and the public remain our company鈥檚 top priority,鈥 Young states. 鈥淎s a reminder to the public traveling near work zones in high traffic areas: slow down, make room and help us save lives. Staying attentive to live traffic risks helps everyone return home safely at the end of the day.鈥

reports that live traffic and roadway incidents cause over one-third of construction fatalities. To address this, 糖心Vlog Beatty actively advocates for work zone awareness to address live traffic hazards across its U.S. sites.
